Free agent guard Jarrett Jack was somewhat left out in the cold this week, as the Warriors stripped salary to chase Dwight (then Iguodala). Other teams also were in that ‘Howard holding pattern’. Today, Jack lost my respect. He didn’t just take the money…he took the easy way out. Jarrett has reportedly agreed to join the Cleveland Cavaliers (via sign and trade), according to the San Jose Mercury News. His deal will be for four years and $25 million (mid-level money). It’s obvious what happened here: Jack saw the market drying up and took the biggest contract he could find. But that’s not what bothers me. I get that he took the cash, but why not go to a team where you’d be the starting point guard and run the show full-time?
