Cleveland was the first team, and only team, to aggressively court Earl Clark on Tuesday morning. Their price tag was obviously to his liking. Clark has agreed to sign with the Cavaliers on a two-year contract worth $9 million. No one else was even offering half that much. While I’m feelin’ Clark’s game, it’s a strange move for the Cavs. They drafted PF Anthony Bennett No. 1 overall last week, and also have PF Tristan Thompson in the mix. Don’t forget bigmen Anderson Varejao and Tyler Zeller. The again, this is a franchise that brought Mike Brown back after firing him two years ago in a desperate effort to keep Lebron. For the Lakers, this isn’t good news either. While the team has reportedly shown more interest in Chris Copeland, Clark did prove to be the best player alongside Dwight Howard down low last season. Sean Deveney of the Sporting News was all over this story from the start.
